About
I am a freelance writer, researcher, and editor with a strong background in health and fitness. I served as the Research Chief at Women’s Health magazine for more than seven years from 2007 to 2014. During that time, the magazine was nominated three times for a National Magazine Award for General Excellence and won in 2011. Prior to joining Women’s Health, I spent four and a half years at Real Simple magazine. I received my master's degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and my bachelor's degree in English and Political Science from Duke University.

I enjoy questioning just about everything and value being part of a profession where such behavior is encouraged. Fun facts about me include that I have a black belt in Karate, ran my first marathon in New York City in less than four hours, and traveled to the Galápagos Islands on my honeymoon. I aspire to keep intensity and a sense of adventure as my constant companions.
